About Brent Veitch, Photographer

Brent Veitch
Brent Veitch has always been passionate about wildlife and our natural environment. He is often out hiking with his SLR Nikon camera in hand ready for any photo opportunity. Not only does Brent follow marked hiking trails, but at times, with the aid of a GPS unit, he follows animal trails keeping an eye out for fresh wildlife pawprints and scat.

Because Brent spends so much time in the wild he has taken the Bear and Cougar Safety course offered through the University of the Fraser Valley. He is also up-to-date in his Industrial First Aid Level 2.

With the use of various different lenses, one of which is the Nikon VR 200 X 400, Brent is able to capture images of wildlife close up. His Nikon D300 and D700 cameras are also perfect for indoor and outdoor fast action photography. Furthermore, with knowledge and experience with flash photography, Brent is able to capture sharp images of indoor dog agility action by strategically placing flashes.

Brent also enjoys spending time photographing animals in their habitats at the Greater Vancouver Zoo where he is a proud member of the Greater Vancouver Zoo Photography Society. He enjoys being able to support the GVZ and their efforts to preserve and protect endangered species.
